SERVBO Terms of Service

1. Who we are

SERVBO is a marketplace operated by SERVBO.AI LLC, a Utah limited liability company (Utah entity number 14702938-0160), that connects homeowners and businesses ("Customers") with independent service professionals ("Pros") along the Wasatch Front in Utah — currently Utah, Salt Lake, Davis, Wasatch, Tooele, and Summit counties. SERVBO is not a contractor and does not perform services itself.

2. How SERVBO works

Customers post requests. Pros submit quotes. Customers choose a Pro.
Payment is collected by SERVBO when a job is completed.
SERVBO keeps a tiered platform commission on each completed job — 10% on jobs under $1,000 and 5% on jobs of $1,000 or more (subject to a $5 minimum) — and remits the remainder to the Pro through Stripe Connect, generally within 2–7 business days after the funds settle.
Pros never pay for leads. The only fee charged to a Pro is the tiered commission on completed jobs. Signing up as a Pro or as a Founding Pro does not guarantee any volume of leads, jobs, or income.

3. Independent contractor relationship

Pros are independent contractors. They are not employees, agents, partners, or joint venturers of SERVBO. Pros set their own prices, schedule, methods, and tools. SERVBO does not supervise or control the manner in which a Pro performs work.

4. Eligibility and verification

Pros represent that they (a) are at least 18, (b) hold all required state and local licenses for the work they offer (e.g., Utah DOPL plumber license for plumbing), (c) carry any insurance required by law, and (d) will provide accurate W-9 information so SERVBO can issue Form 1099-NEC where required. SERVBO performs automated license checks against the Utah DOPL Verify-a-License database but does not guarantee a Pro's qualifications.

5. Customer responsibilities

Customers agree to provide accurate job descriptions, safe site access, and timely payment. Customers acknowledge that pricing in any Pro's quote is an estimate; final pricing may change if site conditions differ materially from the description.

6. Payments, refunds, and disputes

All payments are processed by Stripe. Customers authorize SERVBO and Stripe to charge their payment method for any completed job. Refunds are governed by the Cancellation Policy and the Dispute Resolution process. SERVBO will attempt to mediate any dispute in good faith but does not guarantee any specific outcome.

7. Prohibited conduct

Users may not (a) circumvent SERVBO by transacting off-platform after first meeting through SERVBO, (b) post false or misleading content, (c) discriminate against any person on any protected basis, or (d) use SERVBO for any illegal purpose.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SERVBO's aggregate liability to any user is limited to the greater of (a) the total commissions SERVBO earned from that user's transactions in the prior 6 months, or (b) USD $100. SERVBO is not liable for the acts or omissions of any Pro or Customer.

9. Arbitration and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in Utah County, Utah, on an individual basis, except that either party may bring a claim in small-claims court.

10. Changes

SERVBO may update these terms. Material changes will be posted at servbo.ai/legal/terms with the effective date updated above.
